Martin Luther King Jr. was a social activist and a Baptist Minister. His role in society had a huge impact on many historical events that transpired during his lifetime. He helped watershed events like the Montgomery Bus Boycott, Freedom Walk in Detroit and March on Washington. His work throughout time led to many monumental feats. Some of which were, The Civil Rights Act of 1964, A Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and The Voting Rights Act of 1965. Martin Luther King organized numerous marches which ultimately led to the March on Washington where he gave his most prominent and influential speech of all times. He gave his final speech on April 3,1968, "I've Been to the Mountaintop" the day before he was killed. Although his life ended suddenly and tragically, his legacy will live on forever and be known for many years to follow.
