Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15,1929 in Atlanta, GA to Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. He had an older sister, Willie Christine and a younger brother, Alfred Daniel. He went to a public school that was segregated. At age 15, he was able to leave Booker T Washington High School and attend Morehouse College. In 1948, he graduated from Morehouse College with a B.A. degree in Sociology. Then in 1953 he completed his residency and got his Doctorate at Boston University. Shortly after that, he married Coretta Scott on June 18, 1953 in Heiberger, AL. They had 2 sons, Martin Luther III and Dexter and 2 daughters, Bernice and Yolanda. During most of his life, including his younger years, Martin Luther King suffered from Depression, however, this did not stop him from becoming one of the most influential people today.
